John Whelan on Concert Window

Even better than canned video is free live streaming on your computer.

Tonight at 8:00 p.m. USA Eastern time, you can watch a live concert by the great Irish accordion player John Whelan.

The show will be webcast from Club Passim in Cambridge, Massachusetts via Concert Window, a web startup co-founded by my son Dan Gurney.

Man, Jim, thanks so much for this link. The energy level went up five notches when Dan joined in. Finally, the guitar was not dominating the sound. Wish he'd been up there for more than one tune. Real treat!

Well, make that two tunes, glad they did an encore. It would have been good to see some of John's woodworking.

I'll echo that. I was unfamiliar with John's work, and really enjoyed his work... and you didn't say that Dan was actually playing as well, that was a treat.

I've bookmarked concertwindow and will have to check back. It looks like a good use of the Internet and I hope it takes off. Thanks for posting this.
